FAQ

Do I need to wear a handmade garment? That's the name of the game here at Frocktails! You can wear an old make or a new one, but a handmade garment of some sort is key.

Does my outfit need to be fancy? Nope! Wear whatever you feel most confident in! Some people like to use Frocktails as a fun reason to dress up, but it's not mandatory. You do you!

Is the venue accessible to individuals with mobility concerns? Yes! Gage Park Greenhouse is fully accessible.

Does the venue have gender-neutral washrooms? Yes!

What is the parking situation? It's excellent! Gage Park has a good-sized free parking lot that is wheelchair accessible. The entrance is off of Lawrence Road, just east of Gage Avenue South. Take the pathway at the north side of the parking lot a short distance, and you'll arrive at the Greenhouse!

Will it be hot in the greenhouse? The Tropical Greenhouse ranges in temperature from 20C to 25C. It will be warm but not sweltering. A large garage door opens to an outdoor courtyard, which we fully intend on having open all evening to let in a cool breeze. We recommend wearing a summery outfit if you tend to run hot!

Will there be food? Yes!

Will there be a bar? Yes! Entry to the event includes one drink, and drinks vouchers will be available to purchase throughout the evening. Cash only!

Will there be music and dancing? Yes! Our cool pal Seema will be DJing and spinning vinyl all evening. Bring your dancing shoes!

I don't live in Hamilton. Can I still attend? Of course! Makers from anywhere and everywhere are welcome to attend, without a doubt! We had guests from all over Ontario at our 2019 event. The sewing community is a warm and friendly bunch. :)
